Formula 1: The dispute between the FIA and the seven “insurgent” teams regarding #Ferrarigate continues.
F1-Insider.com learned: On Monday, the FIA replied to the second letter that Mercedes, Red Bull, Alpha Tauri, McLaren, Racing Point, Williams, and Renault sent to the FIA. The teams demanded full disclosure of the private settlement between FIA and Ferrari.
The “glorious seven” even set a deadline for the FIA to respond that expired today. F1-Insider.com learned: FIA remains resolute in their response.
The seven teams are now considering legal action and may follow Bernie Ecclestone’s advice. The British ex-Formula 1 boss believes that there is “no choice but to sue.”
Ecclestone to F1-Insider.com: “It looks like Ferrari cheated in 2019. In that case, they would have to be disqualified and the prize money released would have to be distributed among the other teams. ” A visit to the EU court, therefore, seems possible.
