Und in denen ist sein hintergründiger Humor tief verankert. F1-insider.com hat in diesem Zusammenhang den Wortlaut einer lustigen SMS-Konversation von Vettel mit seinem Ex-Chef von Red Bull, Helmut Marko, erfahren.
Was übrigens noch etwas zeigt – und für Vettel und Marko gilt: Dass sie Menschen, die sie respektieren und mögen, nicht vergessen, nur weil sie jetzt zu Konkurrenten geworden sind. Als Vettel am zweiten Einsatztag in Jerez mitbekam, dass Red-Bull-Rookie Daniiel Kvyat den ganzen Tag ohne Frontflügel fuhr – der Russe hatte den an diesem Tag einzig vorhandenen Spoiler schon in seiner ersten Runde durch einen heftigen Kontakt mit einer andalusischen Leitschiene in die ewigen Flügel-Jagdgründe geschickt – schrieb der Heppenheimer eine SMS an Marko: „Habt Ihr keine Flügel mehr? Big smiley!“
Marko antwortete spontan: „Aber gerade Du musst doch wissen, dass Red Bull Flügel verleiht. Übrigens: Gratulation zu Deiner Bestzeit! Die bist Du bestimmt mit „50“ Kilo Sprit gefahren! Big Smiley!“ Hintergrund: 50 Kilo sind viel für eine Tankfüllung während der Testfahrten. Fest steht: Egal wie viel Sprit Vettel im Tank hatte, bei Ferrari ist er zurück im Land des Lächelns.
So auch gestern bei einer PR-Veranstaltung zur Präsentation des Ferrari 488GTB. Vettel ließ sich – stets mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht – mit mindestens einem Dutzend Fans fotografieren. Auch heute ist er noch in Maranello. Auf dem Programm stehen Simulatortests, Interview- und weitere PR-Termine.

He showed that also yesterday at a PR event for the presentation of the Ferrari 488GTB. Vettel took – always with a smile on his face – photos with at least a dozen fans.
