Bei den ersten Testfahrten in Jerez war er ständig damit zu sehen – wenn er es aus der Hand gab, dann nur an seine Pressesprecherin Britta Roeske. SPORT BILD zitiert jetzt einen hochrangigen Ferrari-Techniker mit den Worten: „So etwas haben wir noch nie bei einem unserer Fahrer gesehen. Nicht einmal bei Michael Schumacher. Darin ragt Sebastian jetzt schon heraus.“
Ferrari ist überrascht von Sebastian Vettel. Von seiner Lockerheit, von seinem Fahrkönnen, von seinen Fähigkeiten technisches Feedback zu geben. SPORT BILD berichtet, wie detailliert Vettel in den Briefings offenbar jede Kurve in ihre Einzelteile zerlegt hat. Das waren die Italiener bislang offenbar nicht gewohnt. Mit Vettel zieht bei Ferrari erstmals in der Nach-Schumacher-Ära wieder Perfektionismus ein.

Doch bei aller Euphorie um den Vierfachweltmeister und den SF15-T, von dem Vettel gegenüber Vertrauten positiv gesprochen haben soll; bei Ferrari bleibt man realistisch. Laut SPORT BILD-Informationen soll 2015 nur die Basis gelegt werden – für den WM-Kampf 2016. Internen Berechnungen zufolge ist der SF15-T bislang 1,2 Sekunden schneller als sein Vorgänger. Doch der Rückstand auf Mercedes wird immer noch auf acht Zehntelsekunden geschätzt.
Zwischen Mercedes und Ferrari liegen nach Informationen von F1-insider.com derzeit noch Williams, die in Jerez nur mit dem alten Mercedes-Motor fuhren, und Red Bull – ebenfalls noch nicht mit der neuesten Renault-Ausbaustufe unterwegs. Etwa eine halbe Sekunde hinter Ferrari rangiert derzeit das Sauber-Team, das von der verbesserten Ferrari-Antriebseinheit profitiert. Zu Lotus, Force India und Honda liegen noch nicht genügend Daten vor, um deren Position realistisch einzuschätzen.

According to SPORT BILD information 2015 only the base shall be placed – to be prepared for 2016 world title fight. According to internal calculations, the SF15-T is currently 1.2 seconds faster than its predecessor. But the gap to Mercedes is still estimated to eight tenths of a second.
F1-insider.com learned: Between Mercedes and Ferrari you can currently find Williams, which drove in Jerez with the old Mercedes engine, and Red Bull – also not with the latest Renault-PU on road. About half a second behind Ferrari is currently ranked the Sauber team, which benefits from the improved Ferrari power unit. Lotus, Force India and Honda are not yet enough data to realistically assess their position.
