Mexico City E-Prix 2019

Mexico city Formale E Pascal 2

Lucas Di Grassi is back at the front! After a “mad” Mexico City race di Grassi clinched a miraculous win in epic photo finish against pole setter Pascal Wehrlein.

Wehrlein led the pack from the start the entire race until that final fateful lap he will remember for some time.

Di Grassi worked his way up during the race placing himself in pursuit of Wehrlein in he final laps. Using his extra energy to make a break down the start/finish line he was able to overtake in front of the start/finish line.

Wehrlein, having spent his energy defending di Grassi, was left depleted – hitting zero percent just from the finish line.

Di Grassi pounced, slipping down the inside to take the win by a whisker, leaving the Mahindra driver in second and da Costa in third.

Suffering a penalty, Wehrleine lost his podium place, giving way to a second place finish for da Costa and a finish for Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara.

Whatever people might celebrate Di Grassis victory today in Mexico City, Pascal Wehrlein has again proven that he will be a force to reckon with this season.

In his current form, it will be only a matter of time before the Formula E rookie will win his first race.
